Vacation time

I’ve seen and read a lot of stuff since I last wrote in my blog. I had to finish my schoolwork then I totally got into my writing project, but I still had time for a bit of fun.

Everyday Life in the Middle Ages by Sherrilyn Kenyon – this is an interesting book that has little short articles about clothing, food, manners, culture… everyday stuff.

Dateworthy by Dennie Hughes – Just another attempt on my part to see if I will every take the time and effort to find me a man. I spend more time reading about relationships than I spend going out trying to meet people.

True Stories movie – this is a re-watch from a while ago. Still a fun, clever movie. Why didn’t David Byrne ever make any more movies?

My TV watching consists of DVD’s of M.C. Beaton’s Hamish Macbeth, Babylon 5, and SCTV; and shows available online: Heroes and Raines.

Raines is quite good. It’s a twist on a twist detective show. The guy (Jeff Goldblum) is not crazy (aka Monkish), and he doesn’t see dead people (aka Medium-like) HE’S BOTH! Don’t bother trying to figure out what his problem is, just enjoy watching Mr. Goldblum do his acting thing.

Brother Cadfael on BBC radio with Philip Madoc: I also listen to a lot of BBC radio online. Not too long ago there was a great series of Ellis Peter’s Brother Cadfael stories dramatized on BBC7. Philip Madoc (actually Welch) played Cadfael with that wonderfully deep voice of his and the occasional bout of Welch. Sorry Sir Derek Jacobi… I have a new favorite Cadfael.
